As I am sure everyone knows, the old engine cowling pieces - lousy glass with dark grey gelcoat - are awful ( I have used much stronger language when discussing them with Lancair ). I have done a lot of work on them, but remain convinced they are not going to hold up over any significant period of time. I have the older, shorter engine mount. I understand that the new cowlings are better stuff, but only designed to fit with the longer engine mount. Are there any solutions for me - to find cowlings that have anything like the quality of the rest of this thing?
