 Let's see, ELT with GPS tracking and a guy hurt with 1 hour to live.  I'd
rather have the ELT GPS rather than, "hey, let's start in this 50 square mile
radius and hope we find em - his wife said he SHOULD be here."

  There is also new technology which is "waterproof" - might apply to ELT's
too.

  Or,

  for the obituary, "we tried but after a week and a half a million dollars of
tax money, we finally found the wreckage - and no survivors."

  Bottom line, tell your wife (who will probably take her time calling anyone
cause you have a big life insurance policy OR she has her eye on the UPS man),
AND use the best technology available = GOOD COMMON SENSE

  I think there is no disagreement, oh yeah, and don't forget the fuel which
might prevent this whole discussion.
