A lot of time went into it, but now most of us have very complete checklists to work from. Of course, with all the aircraft specific items, no one checklist will work for any given model, but sharing information is a great way to make sure all the important items make it to the list. Joe is absolutely right, not taking responsibility for our checklists. The funniest example, the ES checklist for "Balked Landing" lists "Retract the Gear". So use it as a starting point and expand, edit, etc. for your specific aircraft. The ES checklist also listed the wrong best glide speed. We've had a few guys who've tested best glide speeds and passed it along to the rest of our ES group. The HPAT folks also spend time reviewing your checklists.
