We do not have the strut fairings or the wheel pant installed yet, so the influence of the heat from the engine going down the fairing and heating the strut has not been a problem. And, the influence of the pant itself on the strut dynamics is not there. We'll install the fairings first and fly it. This will give us an idea of the strut heating and also if the oil temps and CHT's are affected by closing up that big gap on the bottom of the lower cowl. If all works there, we'll add the pant. We used the castle nuts to secure the drag link to the mount and strut, but used the regular stop nuts on the bearing blocks to the mount. Our first set of bearing blocks were thinner than the replacement ones. We had a homemade aluminum shim for each block. We had no room for shims on the second set. Both plates on the mount seemed to be parallel.
