Instead I added additional layers of carbon to the fuselage to stiffen it, glassed over the cargo door, and constructed a pressure bulkhead at the aft end of the cargo area. My pressure vessel is thus 50% longer than normal, about 12 ft long vs standard 8 ft. =20 At the lower pressures we were mainly interested in finding leaks and neglected to measure dimensions. When things stabilized we started checking. At 7 psi no one had the kahonees to stay inside and measure. Aft of the rear seats the cross section becomes very round and as expected there was very little change there. Greatest distortion was at the aft edge of the door. Cabin width changes in inches at 3 locations were: Pressure Door Rear Seat Aft bulkhead=09 3 psi 0.45" 0.35" 0.10" 4 psi 0.50" 0.41" 0.15" 6 psi 0.70" 0.57" 0.24" Robert M. Can you quantify the amount of "bulge" you are experiencing? Is there any other spot besides the door rear that is pronounced? Was there much of a difference in the bulge between 5 and 7 PSI? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, Bill Hogarty -- For archives and unsub http://mail.lancaironline.net/lists/lml/
