Some disturbing rumors are floating around regarding the recent tragic Lancair crash which killed Richard Reitz and David Hickman in Pennsylvania.

 

We are the owners of High Elements LLC, an interior shop located in Clearwater Florida.  We have many fine clients; one of our clients was Richard Reitz.  We also knew David Hickman by recent association through a new client.  We were devastated to learn of this crash and attended the memorial service recently held in their memory.

 

The rumor we have heard is that High Elements was responsible in some way or connected with the downed Lancair.  We would like to set the record straight that we never in any way worked on the Lancair Hickman was flying that day.  We did the interior of Richard’s bird, The Cozy, which remains unharmed to this day in his hanger in Clearwater.  We have recently completed a Lancair interior for another client and are finishing a second Lancair, neither of which have any connection with the tragedy or person or persons connected with the tragedy.

 

Richard was ecstatic about the finished job on the Cozy and referred many people to us.  We are saddened by the loss of such a fine person and pilot and feel privileged to have had the opportunity to work on the Cozy and to have had Richard Reitz as a client.  Although we did not know David well, we are saddened by his passing, as well.
