Thanks for clarifying all the "xxx-ignition" types. I know there are
many, and not all are known by me. Not even close. And then there is
cycle to cycle variability and other additional complexities. This
combustion stuff is complicated.
I would love to attend a combustion seminar. Maybe next time they are
in Western Australia.
I agree: cool is good when making lots of horsepower. A constant flow
of gin and tonics over the cylinder heads can probably allow an
additional 5 inches of manifold pressure, depending on the gin to tonic
ratio. I have a curve somewhere in one of my books, GPH of anti
detonation fluid (gin and tonic that is) vs. inches of mercury....
