 The trick is to install the gas spring before you connect the over-center
 link to the link arms. The over-center link will sit just above horizontal,
 and the gear leg will still be free-swinging. Now you have enough leverage
 to muscle the over-center link into position and slip a bolt through one of
 the link arms. Of course, the plane needs to be jacked up to do this.
