This was the continuation of a thread on alternative ways to enter and survey runway conditions at low use uncontrolled patterns which were also faster and potentially better for the engine. Real risk analysis and the incentives which cause risk takers to innovate and advance science is a hobby of mine. A prioritized interest should be first with safety.
