Conductive paint ground plane with external com antenna VSWR 1.15:1-1.3:1 at mid freq. Copper mesh or aluminum tape ground plane on inside VSWR 1.7:1-2.0:1 at mid freq. No ground plane only using carbon VSWR 1:8:1-2.4:1 at mid freq. These were actual tests conducted on multiple airframes using a digital VSWR meter. Tim, MANY THANKS for all of us for this information. Few of us have the ability to conduct actual tests over more than a very small sample size/example, and providing this type of information when you have it is a tremendous help. My plane is already painted, and I am therefore reluctant to apply the conductive paint, but you can be sure that I will do so if/when the bottom gets repainted. The numbers above make the case well. This type of "factory" involvement and participation in our projects is one of the principal reasons I chose to build a Lancair, and I am personally pleased to see you (and others) pick up the gauntlet and continue to run with this support. It gives Lancair a significant marketing advantage--at least to me. Bob Pastusek
