Interesting perspective from some of the eyewitnesses (they probably don't
know what the real regulations are for this stuff)
>>"Neighbors said houses were shaking and windows rattling as the pilot
buzzed rooftops before the accident. Tom Kenyon, who lives
nearby on Sandburg Court, said he went outside to see what was causing the
noise.
He watched as the plane flew in from the west, doing "barrel rolls" and then
climbing in altitude. He said the plane appeared to stall and then spiral
downward into the house.
Kenyon, 47, ran inside to call 911, only to find the lines busy, he said.
"It's devastating," he said. "I'm still in shock."
Randy Fletcher, a 32-year-old resident of Avenida Martina, was on his way to
the gym when he began watching the plane perform stunts. A former commercial
pilot and a private pilot today, Fletcher said the plane caught his eye because
the pilot appeared to be breaking FAA regulations by flying so low - he
estimated just 100 feet off the rooftops - and doing acrobatics over a
residential area.<<<
Probably was doing that risk free stuff we discussed earlier. Sad part
was...
>>>Several neighbors identified the pilot, but authorities would not
confirm the identity. The neighbors said the pilot lives nearby. Some said his
wife and son had been watching when the accident occurred.<<< www.sacbee.com (Pilot identified as
Patrick Obrien of San Clemente, CA)
So, when you are really bored in the pattern just go low and fast and throw
in a few barrel rolls to impress the neighbors.
