These carburetors are about the same thing as a 1936 Chevy updraft carb. and do not respond well to pressurization. Vetterman found on the RV airplanes that the best results were attained by keeping the pressure conditions surrounding the carb. and the internal pressures as close as possible including providing a dump valve on the air box.
