I know
about COMANT, but who is AEA? Is your COM2 antenna essentially the type
that is described in the Lancair assembly manual? Do you have a picture
of your arrangement of antennas in your vertical stab? I'm really
interested in the Xpdr antenna? ------Sorry that is AAE. Can be found
in EAA Sport Aviation magazine (1800-758-8632) Invented by a McDonnell Douglas
aerospace years ago for his Long Eze. Web site is www.advancedaircraft.com
the antennas are $149 for VHF and $99 for xpdr -- you can also find them in
Aircraft Spruce.
I think I will be happier with redundant GPS
antennas than have a need for two NAV antennas. Do you have any trouble
with servicing your radio stack with the GPS antennas under the glare shield?
----No trouble at all
How about your ELT
antenna? ---Mounted it vertically in the
tail
And finally...I'm still pretty lost on a NAV antenna,
even one, on a IV-P with carbon fiber wingtips.
AEA antennas require no ground plane. Just epoxy it to the vertical stab.
The transponder antenna is a shortened version. Works great.
