I second the thanks.  For those of us who can't say we've progressed to the the refresher stage on engines, i.e., for whom the inner workings of the engine are still pretty mysterious, the explanation was helpful for understanding the implications of timing for cyllinder pressure and why CHT and EGT behave the way they do.
