Good points. Allow me to respond further.
IE., PRISM. I am not associated with PRISM in any way. My only bias is
with familiarity. Why calculate something which can be measured directly?
Why use 26 sensors to measure a whole list of parameters to use in
calculations when one will do by measuring the needed information directly?
As I have learned, the calculations aren't always accurate. Direct
measurements are much more so.
All through history, we have calculated these things BECAUSE we could not
measure them directly. Then we learned to measure them directly and as far as
the automotive world is concerned the technology is waaaay too expensive to
use on production automobiles.
Comparing auto systems with aviation (air-cooled) systems is fraught with
difficulties. Your incredibly impressive motorcycle engine has a huge
advantage--it is water cooled. CHT control is a big deal. If you're off a
little in the calculations, the cool CHT keeps you out of trouble.
As for you and I waiting patiently whilst approaching our TBO???? I'm with
you--DAMMIT.
