Many of the Lancair IVP's have had the problem, especially the ones build
prior to the 1/2" lines from the tank to the fuel selector.  In my case I
replaced the fuel valve, didn't do it.  Finally took the fuel pump off the
right  side wall and laid it horizontal beneith the co-pilot floorboard,
used braided stainless steel hoses from the fuel selector to the pump and
from the pump to the gascolator.  Haven't had a problem since.  In my case
it used to occur once per flight, usually on the first fuel tank change.

Make sure your fuel pump has good seals as well.  You will see a stain at
the fuel pump overflow if the seals are leaking.  If so repair or replace.

 Hope this helps.
