At the risk of offending many on the list, that rationale seems to represent a certain political persuasion in this country. Money doesn't mitigate stupidity, never has, never will. The people killed in T-34 spar failures are not dead as a result of woefully weak spars, they are dead as a result of woefully irresponsible behavior consistently demonstrated over time. Where was the FAA when the outfit in question was giving out pins boasting of over stressing the airplane??????????? Should we do the right thing? Of course! Should safety be considered over cost, I think so. However, just like many other "window dressing" fixes of the government, the solutions are not cost effective and adversely impact people minding their own business. They simply "look good" and ensure no chance of liability or culpability on the bureaucracy's part. Precautions are great, I just wish the government was more interested in reasonable solutions instead of just making sure their own butt is covered. Enough from me... Barry
