The weather has cooled here some by then for a nice morning flight.
We are just across the border from California. This location may
appeal to both North and Central California flyers as well as Oregon
flyers.
Most west coast flyers are familiar with the area while in transit to/from
Northwest EAA Fly-in in Arlington, Washington or to/from the factory BBQ fly-in
in Redmond, Oregon.
Medford is towered class 'D' airspace with a 8800' x 150' runway.
There are 3.5 FBO's, one of which is adjacent to the terminal
building. The terminal building has a nice restaurant (Red Baron
Restaurant and Lounge).
I will repeat this post at a later date. And of course it will be up
for discussion at the Redmond Lancair BBQ during Labor Day Weekend
which is just a few days away.
Also, this week I will keep tabs on the forest fire in the La Pine, Oregon
area, as its TFR is in the aircraft transit path from the south north bound
to Redmond, and will post a report.
