And I know at least two Navy fighters that have the same congiguration. Standardization is not a dirty word. Another thing to remember, you can build them like you wish with your idea of what is best, but almost everyone out there is going to want to sell their bird at some time in the future. "Cool" ideas that are not standard do not help this process very much. Boost pump, starter and flap switches on a stick grip come to mind. The fuel selector in John Denver's airplane is another.
