My thinking was that the rudder trim is only used on takeoff & landing, but the aileron is used to balance gas throughput the flight. As it turns out I switch tanks often enough that I seldom use the aileron trim, so I believe your setup works fine. I also very seldom use the com1/com2 pinky switch because I like to look at the radio knob to see where the com is set without looking at the light that says the knob is reversed. Hope this helps.
