All,

Now that I have your attention, as of Wednesday
afternoon only seven pilots have committed to training
at the Rocky Mountain Regional Fly-in.  Wednesday
afternoon was the deadline.  Thursday morning Lancair
will call Pete Z and request an extension of two more
days with the hope of getting a total of ten pilots
committed to the training.  Over the past several months, there has been extensive
talk about a need for recurrent training.  Now,
another opportunity has been given to all of us to
receive this training. As you know, a commitment to
recurrnet training could possibly have an impact with
the insurance companies, they may be more willing to
insure us and at lower rates.  Talking about needing training is much different than
committing to get training.

Will there be more discussion about the need for
training after the next accident?  I am at a loss of what to say to educated pilots,
something that would encourage them to seek and
participate in this type of education.  I believe it
is not only needed as has been proven by the accident
rate among the Lancair community, but is also
paramount to our safety and the safety of our loved
ones who travel with us.

The training may be canceled due to lack of interest
as it was in Hondo TX.  What am I missing here?
