Just wanted to let any interested Legacy builders know that Robbie now has a new set of wheels/brakes available for the Legacy. Basically, Robbie has replaced the single piston in the Cleveland brakes that come with the kit with a double piston in each caliper with a slight higher total piston area than the Clevelands. As mentioned below this seems to make a real difference in their effectiveness. In keeping with "truth in (sort of) advertising", I have to tell everyone that Robbie leases me the hangar in which I'm building my Legacy but the plus of my relationship with him is that I'm regularly in his shop where the brakes and a lot of landing gears are produced with truly outstanding quality. I can't vouch directly for improved braking action over the Clevelands since I'm still a ways from flying. However, there are 3 of us with Legacies based at KSEE and the one that has flown (Carl Stattin) has made the switch and is very happy with the improvement (they hold readily at a full power runup unlike his originals). Both Dave Sterling (should fly within about a month) and I have now made the switch based on Carl's experience. As a number of listers have noted, Robbie is great to work with and has extensive experience with the experimental, certified and defense contractor communities.
