Ed ... when you say you installed on the belly and you can't even see it, can you expand on that?  Did you glass over the cat whisker on the e-glass skin, or mount it on the surface and therefore sticking out into the slip stream?

I flat gave up on my Bob Archer VOR/LOC/GS antenna. It worked well tracking VOR's such as airways, but was very inconsistent when used for localizer/glideslope or even VOR approach work (lower frequencies in the range).  I installed the Lancair Avionics offered cat whisker on the belly of my ES and you can't even see it. What a difference having a real antenna, it is completely reliable and dead nuts on. I can no longer blame the antenna for s-turning down the localizer. ....8-)
