I have the center console installed, along with the flap torque tube and
bearing blocks. I found that when tightened down on the bearing blocks,
the torque tube wouldn't rotate smoothly. I assembled the two halves of
the torque tube on the bench and supported the ends with v-blocks. I
placed a stationary pointer where the tube rides in the bearing block.
When I rotated the torque tube through its normal travel range, the tube
was moving fore and aft almost 1/8".
The left and right tubes each have a circular plate welded to the
inboard end. I'm guessing that the end plate is not square to the tube,
or possibly that the tube itself is somehow bent or warped. Has anyone
else had this problem? Is there a workaround?
Thanks,
