That is true, but 40 hours seems a bit long.  About 15 hours sounds more like what I saw with two sets of CermiNils I had on a twin about five years ago.   I'd change the oil and filter at 5 hours and again in 15 more, then go to your regular oil changes intervals.  That'd probably do it.
