On the old radial engines, that is true. It was possible to have cold oil
stay in the hub without deep cycling. On the DC-3 and C-46 I fly, that is a
very real issue. We deep cycle those--and on a cold morning we do it several
times. Not so on our props on GA aircraft. The hubs are so much smaller and
the oil quantity is so much less it's a diiferent issue.
