The "self Centering" is a fringe benefit of the improved struts. The = main reason to upgrade is the improved shimmy dampening. If you have shimmy, check wheel bearing tension, tire pressure and = possibly a bad tire (flat spot etc) and oil quantity in the strut. If the problem persists, it's in the strut and will only get worse. = Shimmy can and has lead to strut failure / collapse. Struts are expensive but are cheap insurance toward the cost of a = collapse.
