He said the nose wheel hit sometimes when retracting and rubbed on the door. He bought the newer centering strut and it worked great. Lancair used to retro fit the old strut with the new parts but I think you can only purchase a new strut to get the self centering. They are about $2000. Randy Shatz N360DW
