If the person that inspects your aircraft deems the aluminum plate and attachment method not satisfactory, you won't get your little piece of paper until you remedy the problem. My plates on both my 235 and my RV-9A are stainless steel per the suggestion of the local AB-DAR and nearest FSDO inspector. I know you wouldn't get by with anything less with either of them. Greg T
