Colyn The Chelton EFIS-SV Sport was released at SNF last year and is based off the original Chelton system. It is a dual-screen system ($25,900) or now available is the EFIS-SV Pilot which is a single screen system ($15,900). Both systems use the new Crossbow 425EX AHRS which was developed by Crossbow for Direct-To Avionics specifically and incorporates proprietary aiding algorithms which were developed by Chelton. We've eliminated the hockey-puck gps and have a WAAS-enabled gps which resides in the AHRS enclosure. They also include an ADC, wiring harnesses, data transfer SmartMedia card, install manual, POH and our new training DVD. The EAU (engine airdata unit) has been eliminated in the Pilot & Sport, however if you purchase a Grand Rapids EIS-4000/6000, they will install our software and you can graphically display engine monitoring on the screen. The Pilot & Sport is distributed by us or through an authorized dealer (www.d2av.com/dealers.html) The Chelton EFIS-SV Pro has been upgraded to use the same certified screens as the FlightLogic (but without the TSO label on them). The Pro uses the Crossbow 500GA which also uses exclusive algorithms developed by Chelton for aiding. It uses the Garmin GPS or optional certified WAAS GPS (Freeflight) which is certified for the handful of precision GPS approaches out there. It includes the EAU for Engine Monitoring and Air data. The Pro is only available through a handful of high-end avionics shops such as Aerotronics (www.aerotronics.com ), Avionics Systems (www.avionikits.com ), Lancair Avionics (www.lancairavionics.com ), etc. etc. Many have asked if the Crossbow 425EX will work in a IV-P. We have recently conducted flight testing on the new AHRS in a customer's IV-P. The AHRS was cold-soaked and flown to FL240, -18 deg C, 315 TAS. The ahrs worked flawlessly throughout our series of tests (which exceed those outlined in DO-160B). We've had at least 10 subsequent flights in the IV-P with the AHRS and have not been able to fail it. The 425EX remains installed in the IV-P. The Pilot, Sport & Pro use the same FAA certified (Level A) software as the FlightLogic EFIS.
