Anyone have pictures of closing in the aileron
lower bellcrank area for pressurization rather than the boot & clamp
system? I am familiar with the idea, but have not seen any pictures of
the process or of a completed one. I can manage without, but surely at
more hours than with pictures.
Tom,
I did a 7-8 bid layup on the bottom and it came out nice with great curve
to it. Do not let your layup bond to the floor or it may pull off when you
pressurize. I closed off the top with prepreg and then made a prepreg cover for
it and held the cover on with #8 screws. Finally, you want a nice close fit
on the aileron pushrod. I have seen a nice one using a u-joint and pressure
fitting. I just made mine out of Proseal and let it cure . I siliconed the
aileron pushrod so it would not stick to the Proseal. Works great.
