I installed a Piper Socket in my baggage compartment.  I bought the plug and socket from A/S and attached the plug to a cheap set of jumper cables from Harbor Freight, much cheaper than buying the Piper cable assembled.

 

I used a protection circuit outlined in The Aeroelectric Connection.
