regards to the lml group. Just returned from Edgewater where we did a full annual inspection at Semloh Aviation. On the trip there we had one detonation for a milisecond at 18,000 feet despite rpm 2550 and 31 inches. The annual was quite involved and had 3 pair of eyes ( 2 IA and 1 A+P) in addition to my buddy from Dallas. The compressor blades look good, the mags were inspected and found ok, compression was good aftr close to 300 hrs despite LOP and we did all the AD's, the plane passed. I do recommend the guys at Semloh, very professional and also had a paint guy to touch up things if needed. I will not work on the continental on my own and the AP is quite good out there, we increased my fuel flow to 45 gph at WOT and now I can climb to altitude with good CHTS as per George Braly. Still a bit afraid of the WOT 38 2700 rpm regimen up to altitude and will like an opinion from the forum.regarding the back up instruments... My panel included from the beginning an Stec 55 a/p
independent of the gyro for wing level flight if needed and a separate emergency bus that runs the critical equipment and in addition a full peanut AH with its own independent battery that I flick with my finger and check all the time. with a hand held garmin that I carry with me all the time and the second AH there is little danger of doing the scirrus thing. highly recommend a second AH and now you can get the electronic ones at cheaper than my goodyear 8k monster.
