As far as I know, there is nothing made of magnesium on our beautiful Lancair's. (But as Dennis Miller might say, "I'm just a man. I could be wrong.")
However, I do have a friend who is looking for a safe way to strip paint off of a magnesium surface. He doesn't want to use any sandblasting or anything abrasive as he desires to have a nice, smooth magnesium surface when he is finished.
When he asked me if I or any of my aviation buddies knew how to do this, I immediately thought of the collective knowledge and wisdom on the LML. I'm pretty darn sure that one of you "LML'rs" knows how to do this. Does it apply to any of our Lancair projects? I don't know. Maybe. We all learn by sharing, though.
Hopefully, this email will pass Marv's filtering and we'll all learn something.
Thanks,
Ron Jones
