We soaked our cables in acetone for a couple of days and then again after
putting new acetone in a new container. We then sprayed them a hundred
yards downwind of the hangar in an open area with dry silicone lube - per
Tim Ong's suggestion. We let them dry in the sun for a few hours to
evaporate the aerosol and installed them in the nyloflow tubing with gloves
on.

Haven't flown yet, but they have been installed for about a year and no
noticebale increase in friction.
