Bummer.
I think you should check the main wing incidence, washout, and dihedral
before major surgery.
Some 320 360 fliers have replaced the original installed small horizontal
stab with the larger one. I am not suggesting you do that but they
may be able to describe the procedures they used to perform the replacement
and that may be useful to you when the surgery is begun to reposition the
stab.
