 I had my right inner door pop open about 5 miles from my airport at about 140
kts indicated. It had unscrewed itself. My inside gear doors had never looked
the same on the right and left side. Being a buyer rather than a builder, I
had never inspected how the system worked. Since then I have readjusted
everything in the wheel area. I even installed new gear legs (The 1" thick
aluminum ones. GM1? I don't have my plans with me.). They were bent 2° and 3°.
I now look at the angle of the doors to see if anything looks loose during
preflight.
