My speed seemed slow at 189.5 kts. Perhaps the average altitude of 5,000 ft make this race slower than the others?" Lorn, one of the reasons was that timing started before we all got up to full speed as we passed the tower on take-off, plus, could be that climb on the leg to Sun River, which just happened to be the longest leg and into the wind (such as it was). And also, didn't you have all your gear and the lady friend aboard as well (memory's gone, should remember her name, but nowadays, without a name tag, I'd probably forget mine)? Though she's certainly not very heavy, every pound the wing is carrying will slow you down a wee bit. My 235 powered lawn dart only made a little over 160 kts and I almost always cruise at 165+. Anyway, a win is a win! Dan Schaefer
