I second the suggestion to post this experience on the Aeroelectric List.  There are a bunch of electro geeks that read and write on that list regularly, and Bob Nuckolls (creator of the list) always has good insights grounded in science, logic, and data.  I know I'm sure interested in the views about this issue of the folks on that list!
