Oh, I certainly agree that finding out that someone else knows more about something than I do is, indeed, irritating.  No qualm there.   When I find myself in that situation I can:

1) Stew and be mad,

or

2) Study on my own to correct my deficiency,

or

3) Get with the guy who knows more than I do and get him to educate me.  Most times, as it should be, I pay for that education.

So far, I know of few other options.

That said, I have had many people fly to my airport to have a problem solved.  Solve THEIR problem with my expertise.  In 100% of the cases where they have offered to pay me for my time and expertise, I have declined payment.  It's not my business.  It's my pleasure.  In cases where the fellow has expected me to do this for free, I have charged him.  Who needs who in this case?  You will notice that George has offered to have a group of you educated -- for FREE.  Just how far do you expect him to go?  Should he pay YOU to come learn??
