 Only one company makes them, and the FAA PMA approval process makes it
 darn near impossible for anyone else to make them also. So the company
 that has the sole marketplace is raising prices to whatever the traffic
 will bear. There are several experimental manufacturers coming out with
 non certified versions in the $100-$200 price range. Blue Mountain
 Avionics is one, IIRC.
