The first brand used was Pocket Plates on a Toshiba PDA. They work fine but are way to small on a PDA. You have to scroll around in real time to see all the detail. I then bought a Compaq 1000 Tablet PC and used PP on that equipment. That was a very satisfactory presentation except the Compaq is not sunlight readable. I had thought that the very dark tinted canopy on my Lancair 360 would have permitted day use but it does not. I then bought a Fujitsu Stylistic ST4121. This unit is fully daylight readable, in fact it is brighter in sunlight than indoors. It is not quite as crisp an image (technical reasons related to the longer light path through the screen). I also have switched to the FlightPrep ChartCase product for the charts etc. This product "seems" to be much better than PP. It has flight planning, approach plates, low alt enroute and sectional charts for the entire US and costs $169.00/yr. PP costs $195.00 for just the approach plates. I have not used ChartCase on a trip yet, but I will be bringing it to the Fly-In, so look me up for a report. Tom Thibault N4XB "Eagle Dancer"
