Guys,

The misprint is that it is suppose to be a TSIO550.  Let's use = a=20 little common sense here.  You can't have a pressurized airplane = without it=20 being turbo charged.

Also,

If you take an IO550 powered ES.  It will do about 169 KIAS at = 8000=20 ft.  Guys, you have the flying airplanes....(mine is not=20 :(    ...I can only go on what I have experienced in=20 N407L.   A TSIO550 powered ES will at 31" and 2500 will do = about 176=20 KIAS at 8000 ft due to the extra 40 horse power.  If you take 169 = KIAS at=20 FL250 as powered is maintained, that is roughly 254 knots.  At 177 = KIAS,=20 that is 266 knots....pretty fast.  There are other factors to = compensate=20 for, but I have heard from a couple of TSIO550 powered ES's that they = can cruise=20 at 12000 at 220 knots (this is 177 KIAS).

If these aren't correct, let me know where I'm wrong.  I don't = know of=20 an ES driver that has been above FL180 even with the a TSIO550.  = Please be=20 my guess and put the mask on and take her up to FL250.....I think you = will be=20 pleasantly surprised how fast this airplane is.

Ed....since you have a TSIO550 powered airplane, can you do the = test, or we=20 can do the test at the fly-in...I will be more than happy to pay for the = gas.

Just as a side note, here is what a 169 KIAS get you at different=20 altitudes.

  8000  196 kts
12000  210 kts
18000  230 kts
22000  243 kts
25000  254 kts

The numbers at 8, 12, and 18 have been validated by numerous people = I have=20 talked with.

My 2 Cents,

I think I saw that misprint on the sign at Sun 'n Fun.  I = think 195=20 kts is about right.
