Re: [LML] Mt Propeller Seal Leak

<<The factory guys say that we have to start worrying when no more grease comes out, which will be a dry situation. I have had no instructions on how to put grease back in?>>

When I was talking to the guys at United Propeller Technology in Stockton, CA, about my MT grease leak, I asked them how much grease is in the prop. They told me only about a spoonful at each blade, so if you have much of a leak, how long could that last?

I don't think there is any other way to add grease -- repack the bearings -- on my MTV-12 without pulling the blades. That costs about $1000 at the shop, so that's not a solution. Does anyone on the list have any experience with props? How difficult would it be to pull the blades on a MTV-12 to repack the bearings? Is that something I could do myself? Are there any special tools required? I plan to have the hub seal mod done by Mt and United Propeller, but if the seals still leak after that -- which seems to be quite possible -- I would consider pulling the blades myself to repack the bearings when necessary, if that is feasible.
