Mike -
I recently had my MTV-14 (4-blade, 190cm) prop completely overhauled and
retrofitted with the new hub grease seals. Total tab was $3467, which
included charges from my local prop shop to disassemble, ship, and
reassemble the unit.
MT's labor for the hub mod was $250, parts were $720 (some of which may not
be needed for just the hub mod), and expedited shipping was $350. That adds
up to $1320, leaving almost $900 for your local prop shop's labor, which
seems high. I would think you could get the hub mod done for more like
$1800.
I've probably put 25-30 hours on the plane since the POH, with no problems.
