Hi,
I was all set to for first flight. The engine first start went smooth
the cylinder temperatures were fine, the oil temperature good,
everything was fitted. Then I tried to cycle the prop.
Nothing happened.
The local FBO had me remove the prop and he looked at it
and said it was fine. I was told that the governor was probably
not working but a bench check says it is ok. The oil is being pumped into the governor. When I blow air into the line from the governor to the prop
all I get is a hissing of air out of the crankcase vent hose.
I am told that the prop should change pitch, it doesn't.
Does this mean that I have to send the engine back to the overhauler because the prop cavity is open to the crankcase? Any other possibilities?
Gerard
