AILERON VIBRATION UPDATE.

Just an updated on my on-going aileron vibration problem.  Prior to my flight yesterday, I adjusted the left flap rod end, extending it a full turn and resulting in a 1/8" below flaired position.  As I mentioned earlier, the left aileron was always BELOW flaired and the right ABOVE flaired during crusie and I always had a right trim input to keep the wings level.  Yesterday's flight yielded a considerable improvement, my instructor said that it was at least a 50% reduction in the vibration level.  Looking that the left aileron, we could hardly see any vibration at all although we could still feel some vibration on the control stick, but greatly reduced.  It's close but no cigar...

This weekend, I will stiffen the aileron curve section, corrrect another cowling to engine baffle contact point, and make some slight rigging adjustments.  I feel confident now that I am on the right track and will soon have this problem resolved very soon.   Since nobody dynamically balances props within my FAA flight restriction area, I'll have to wait till we fly-off the 25-hour mandatory test period before flying down to Lancaster, PA.  I'll see if the FAA will grant a waiver prior to this but I doubt it...

SCARY STUFF!!!

BTW, we took N360ZR up to 6,500 ft at 24-squared.  TAS was 170 knots and GPS gournd speed was 212 Knots.  Not bad I thought.  So, there we were, enjoying the view and then suddenly,  BAAAAMMM!!! , a loud booming noise,  My heart feel right on to my hands!  Stating that this scared the living daylights out of me would be an understatement.    I must have not secured the canopy latch properly and accidently hit it with my shoulder and it poped out and opened the right canopy side about 3 to 4 inches.  Stupid Rick is right!  I was able to latch it back with no problems. I ask Peter, my instructor to take the controls while I proceed to put my heart back into my chest... Rick Argente N360ZR
