Rick -
In order to stiffen and lock in the aileron forward counterbalance arm, I
installed 3 chocks on each aileron, one at each end and one in the middle. I
fashioned them from 1/4" foam, covered with 2 plies of glass (use a thin
slurry of micro on the foam prior to laying the glass) and shaped them to
fit. They're installed with 2 ply lay-ups. My aileron trailing edges are a
uniform 1/4" thick and squared off, per the construction manual. Both are
SLIGHTLY and EQUALLY overbalanced (approximately 1/8"). At neutral, they are
both SLIGHTLY high (approximately 1/16" above faired-in).           Bill Rumburg
