I use the "experimental Lancair two niner five victor victor" when I talk, primarily because the controllers are prone to respond "Lance" if they are not told it is an exp.
Since my approach speed is much higher than a Lance, I prefer that they know the correct type of plane, but sometimes they still think it is a Lance even when I use the exp prefix
Brent has correctly pointed out that the rules specify use of the experimental designation in the report.
