Yesterday I ran at 4,500 ft at 2,600 RPM and full throttle. My IAS was 190 KTS. An estimate of the TAS would be 4.5 x 2 x 190 / 100 + 190 = 207 KTS. Not bad for a "true" 160 HP aircraft. > Does everyone have the standard Lancair pressure switches installed? If you mean for the gear, I just put 2 gauges under the passenger seat so that I could understand what is going on with the gear system. > How often does the gear motor do a brief cycle whilst (a) on the > ground or "down & locked" Never when working correctly. i.e. no internal leaks > and (b) airborne When flying high, in cold temperatures, the pump will cycle every hour. Remember that after 2 or 3 cycles, if all pressure switches are set correctly and the spool valve has been put in properly, there is a good chance that the gear will not come down when the handle is put in the down position until the emergency dump valve is cracked. Don't forget to close the emergency dump valve. -- Lorn H. 'Feathers' Olsen, MAA, DynaComm, Corp. 248-478-4300, mailto:lorn@dynacomm.ws LNC2, O-320-D1F, N31161, Y47, SE Michigan
